GAOR weighs in with local media on the important role of REALTORS®

Several developments over the past year in real estate and the REALTOR® profession promise to significantly change how agents work together with buyer or seller clients.

You may have seen or heard stories in the national media, by word of mouth or from other sources about what is happening in real estate. Unfortunately, some sources of news and information have proven to be incorrect or out of context. In recent weeks, the California Association of REALTORS® published an open letter in media outlets to mitigate confusion about the process of buying and selling a home once new business practices become effective this summer.

Meanwhile, GAOR President Sevak Sohrabian made his voice heard in the May 16 publication of the Crescenta Valley Weekly. His letter to the editor also sought to clarify the important role that REALTORS® play. His letter says that nearly nine out of 10 homebuyers opt to work with a real estate agent or broker. REALTOR® agents help buyers and sellers navigate complex processes in negotiating, paperwork, working with lenders, closing escrows and so much more.

See GAOR’s letter to the editor here, and please share this important information with your colleagues, clients, friends, and neighbors. If you want to learn more, check out detailed information on what you need to know about the coming changes at facts.realtor.
