DRE is hoping to get input from as many licensees as possible! DRE is offering three hours of CE in exchange for providing us with your expert feedback.They are looking for on-the-job requirements that our state’s licensed real estate professionals intimately know. Earn three hours of continuing education credit by helping update California’s real estate licensing exams. SACRAMENTO – California’s more than 434,000 licensed real estate agents all have important knowledge and expertise about the job requirements of our state’s licensed real estate professionals. With that in mind, the California Department of Real Estate (DRE) is urging all licensees to share that knowledge with us. DRE has partnered with PSI to conduct a job analysis survey. The information we gather will be used to update the state’s two real estate licensing exams. This month the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) held its annual Legislative Meetings in Washington DC. Thousands of REALTORS® from all over the U.S. brought concerns and support for real estate and homeownership to our elected representatives in our nation’s capital. During these meetings, local REALTORS® including GAOR President Carmen Arom, Past President Eric Toro and Government Affairs Director Greg Astorian met with elected leaders like U.S. Representatives Jimmy Gomez (D-34) and Adam Schiff (D-30) who represent much of Glendale and the surrounding communities. The intent of these meetings is to support policies, policymakers, and the real estate industry as a whole. Each year in the spring we join the California Association of REALTORS® and members from all over the state and converge upon Sacramento for Legislative Day. This year we met with our State Legislators in Sacramento and shared in other fantastic activities during our visit.  Members of the Glendale Association of REALTORS® descended on Sacramento in the first week of May to meet with our state legislators and underscore the importance of homeownership in our communities. Each year, the California Association of REALTORS® hosts “Legislative Day” when more than 2,000 REALTORS® from all over California converge on our state capitol to talk about the issues important to our industry. This year, we were promoting the early success of the California Dream For All Shared Equity Program which offers loans to first-time home buyers. It is also the association’s 80th anniversary. Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. BRAS FOR A CAUSE is the signature fundraiser for Soroptimist International of Glendale. Since 2004, this premier event has featured decorated bras highlighting a yearly theme, as well as entertainment, raffles, and silent and live auctions. Through an evening of fun, food, and friendship, they raise the funds to support education and training awards, special programs, and service grants that are awarded to other community service organizations for programs that focus on women and girls. NAR and CRMLS are among several defendants in lawsuits regarding the MLS. The plaintiffs are arguing that the way the MLS is structured violates U.S. antitrust laws.  However, NAR believes these cases are without merit and the boards will eventually prevail.
