VOTING BEGINS JUNE 5
It is that time of year when we have a roster of candidates running for leadership roles on the GAOR Board. As the candidates publish their statements, we will update this post.
The three Director positions are for two-year terms, while the Officer positions of President-Elect, Vice President, and Treasurer are for one year each. For detailed information on each position’s roles and eligibility requirements, download the document “Duties and Responsibilities of Elected Officers and Directors”.

GAOR Election Timeline
- May 3: Start accepting applications (open for 2 weeks)
- May 17, 5 p.m.: Deadline to receive candidate applications
- May 18-19: Nominating Committee to meet and review applications
- May 24: Nominating Committee presents slate (4 weeks before the election)
- May 24: Campaigning starts. GAOR will publish candidate statements
- May 31: Deadline for Nominating by Petition (3 weeks before the election)
- June 1: Announcement of any nominations by petition
- June 5: Voting begins. Ballots emailed to members (14 days open)
- June 7 and 14: Candidate introductions at weekly Caravan meetings
- June 19, 5 p.m.: Election ends (at least 1 day before the general meeting)
Ballots received after this time will not be counted - June 20: Election Committee certifies the ballots
- June 21: General Membership Meeting – Announce new Officers and Board
