Former Mayor and Councilmember, City of Glendale (2015-2020)
Vartan Gharpetian is a longtime resident and a successful business owner in the City of Glendale. For over two decades, Vartan has been the President and CEO of Glendale Commercial Inc., a Real Estate firm offering full service Real Estate Brokerage, Consulting, Development and Entitlement services since 2001, servicing Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura Counties.
He has been happily married for 30 years to Dr. Armina Gharpetian, a former member and two time president of the Glendale Unified School District Board of Education. Vartan is a proud father of three children, attending university/college and Glendale public schools.
In April of 2015, Vartan Gharpetian was elected to serve as a Councilmember for the City of Glendale. He proudly served as the Mayor in 2017. He chaired the Glendale Housing Authority in 2015.

- Metropolitan Water District, Member, Board of Directors
- Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), Member, Board of Directors

Vartan has proudly served on the following City Commissions before he was elected to the City Council:
- Historic Preservation Commission (2013-2015)
- Parks, Recreation and Community Services (2011-2013)
- Design Review Board (2004-2007), Chaired for 2 years
For over two decades, Vartan has been actively involved with many community foundations and non-profit organizations:
