NAR has launched a Call for Action, urging members of Congress to cosponsor H.R. 5419, the Direct Seller and Real Estate Agent Harmonization Act, which aims to secure our independent contractor status under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It also seeks to align the FLSA with the Internal Revenue Code, ensuring that we, as real estate professionals in California and nationwide, can continue to operate our businesses without the uncertainty caused by conflicting statutes and regulations.
