Joining a GAOR Committee is a proven way to make new contacts, learn about the new trends in the industry, and have a voice in shaping your Association’s direction. Join the many outstanding REALTORS® and Affiliates who become active participants in GARO Committees each year.
YES, I would like to volunteer my services for one or more of the following committees I have checked below. (All terms are for one year unless otherwise noted.)
GAOR COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
Fosters good relationships between affiliates and REALTORS®. To give and receive support from one another to further professionalize the real estate industry. Reception & Greeters-To make members and guests feel welcome at all of our functions.
*BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE:
Oversee the financial operation of the Association and report the status of such to the Board of Directors. Ensure that Association funds and physical assets are appropriately safeguarded and administered. Prepares the budget for the coming year and presents financial statements and budget reviews. * Financial expertise is a requirement.
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE:
Establishes a positive public image of the REALTOR® in the community.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY/EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMITT EE:
Protects equal opportunities in our industry for employees, independent contractors, and the buying and selling public we represent.
Reviews Ethics and MLS Rules complaints regarding real estate transactions and makes recommendations to the Professional Standards Committee. To review complaints from the Public and Members regarding disputes in real estate transactions; then recommend what complaints merit being heard by the Professional Standards Committee.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT/LEGISLATIVE RELATIONS COMMITTEE:
Monitors local legislative and regulatory actions and trends and interprets for REALTORS® their impact on the real estate industry and property ownership. Assists in the development of proactive strategies to address local government housing policies.
Develop and sponsor programs to foster and support future leadership.
MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE COMMITTEE:
Review and make recommendations on all matters related to the MLS. Promote user training and awareness to ensure full utilization of iTech MLS services. Monitor and enforce rules and regulations to ensure compliance with NAR and CAR guidance.
*PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE:
The Professional Standards Committee is charged with the responsibility of conducting disciplinary and arbitration hearings deemed to be valid issues by the Grievance/Mediation Committee. Volunteers will be required to complete the C.A.R. Certified Training Program.
