Thank You 2020 LGLR Committee
Dear LGLR Committee Members,
I want to thank you for a very productive 2020 on LGLR and I want to acknowledge your contributions to moving our advocacy agenda forward. I hope that you will consider staying active in 2021 – please reach out to the 2021 LGLR Chair, Steven Small, and let him know that you want to continue on the LGLR Committee in 2021.
Finally… a few thank yous:
Very special thanks to Margie Barnes as your LGLR Committee Chair during a challenging year. Despite the long list of weird roadblocks in 2020, Margie stepped up and was instrumental in advancing our advocacy agenda. Thanks to her initiative we did things like the Proposition 15 Forum, which help bring our concerns about Prop 15 and split roll taxation to the wider public. Proposition 15 failed at the ballot box last month just as we had hoped, and I would like to think that Margie’s efforts contributed to that victory for us. Thanks Margie and I look forward to your advice and dedication to GAOR in the coming year.
I hope that you will all join me in saying a heartfelt THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS to our long-time Government Affairs Director, Laura Olhasso, and please wish her all the best in her retirement. I will tell you from long-standing personal experience that Laura’s contributions to advocacy and government affairs at GAOR and with the entire REALTOR profession have been at the highest level. Even from my earliest days as a GAD, I knew that Laura’s example of professionalism and knowledge is the one to follow. Thank you, Laura, and know that we will miss your contributions and will hunt you down from time to time just to be sure that we are on the right path.
I hope that you all have a very, very safe and happy holiday and new year. I look forward to working with many of you in 2021.
