Can I visit a committee meeting without joining it?
Sometimes you may want to visit a committee just to see what it’s all about and decide if you want to join it. Our association benefits from REALTORS® just like you who are interested in participating in our association and getting involved.
If you are interested in a committee, you are strongly encouraged to contact the chair of that committee first. Sometimes, committees review sensitive materials and the members are required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement which prevents them from disclosing the discussions in the room.
If you are interested, contact the chairperson and have ready a number of questions about what interests you the most. The chairperson will work with you to explore your interest in this topic and make suggest a future meeting that you can visit as a guest.
You may see on the Association calendar a list of committee meetings and board meetings. Not all of these meetings are open, so contact the Association or the chairperson first in order to learn more about it.
