Are we allowed to have an open house using a PEAD form?

Q.

Are we allowed to have an open house and have everyone sign a PEAD form before entering and enter one family at a time while abiding by all the CDC guidelines?

A.

Listing agents are strongly discouraged from holding open houses or using the words “Open House.”  In most jurisdictions, including portions of Sun Valley which are in the City of Los Angeles, open houses are for now a violation of the local ordinance and may be subject to enforcement by authorities.

Instead, we counsel listing agents to advertise “Showings”, “Showing by Appointment”, “Exclusive Showing” etc., which should be booked in advance on an individual basis for each buying party.

All parties entering the building should sign the PEAD in advance and all parties should agree to conduct proper cleaning and sanitization protocols. All agents are encouraged to read and adhere to the Form BPPP, of Best Practices Prevention Plan. The BPPP is available on zipForm.

I hope this helps clarify the current rules.
